HBC Cinema (Shanghai)

HBC Chungfeng cinema is HBC’s first cinema in Shanghai. The design intent of this cinema is set as a high-class and luxury, and incorporated with some elements of five-star hotel.

The original structure is a circular space. The circular lobby shape is like a travelling pathway which takes every visitor to the major spots. The pathway connects the ticket booth, candy bar, exhibition and cinemas, which makes the movie experience more like a journey. The design concept is focus on the comfort of the viewers. Lighting is designed for visitors to adapt the darkness from bright pathway to dark cinema.
