Fast-Track Retrofitting & Biophilic Commerce As the mature Xinyi Shopping District in Taipei plunged into an era of fierce commercial competition, Vieshow Cinemas Xinyi initiated a comprehensive renovation master plan for its second-floor food court. I was deeply honored to accept this fast-track challenge, racing against time to execute the vision. We seamlessly infused a biophilic "forest canopy" concept into the venue. At the primary threshold, a monumental stylized tree greets patrons, while the modular tenant signage is reimagined as sweet, hanging fruits. Multi-toned timber parquetry pairs with mosaic-clad counters to orchestrate a vibrant, fluid rhythm of greenery. Crucially, the spatial reconfiguration involved clearing and optimizing the central island kiosks to unveil expansive sightlines. Combined with recalibrated architectural lighting and strategic seating configurations, the entire food court has been dynamicized to offer an unobstructed foot traffic flow and an elevated dining experience. Lastly, the program incorporates a dedicated pre-show waiting lounge, allowing moviegoers to comfortably indulge in light refreshments and share joyful moments before embarking on their cinematic journey.
